Hatfield Borough residents must make arrangements for recycling with the hauler of their choice. The Borough provides recycling bins, which are available at the Borough Office, or at hardware stores. See below for a list of haulers that operate in the borough.
Though each hauler has its own instructions explaining what materials to recycle and how to sort them, the hauler you select should collect clear glass, aluminum cans, and newspapers. Place glass and aluminum cans in the recycling bin, and put papers in a paper bag. Haulers may pick up other materials in addition to these. Please contact your hauler with any questions about recycling materials, material sorting, and collection schedules.
If you wish to recycle a material that is not included in regular recycling collection, you can search for a drop-off.
This list is meant as a guide for residents and may not include all haulers that operate in the borough. Several of the haulers listed also provide commercial recycling collection.

Hatfield Borough will provide leaf collection every Monday from October 31, 2011 through December 5, 2011. Put leaves in biodegradable leaf bags, which can be purchased at any home improvement store or at the Borough Hall for $.25 each. Plastic bags will not be accepted.
In addition to fall leaf collection, the Borough offers curbside chipping and disposal of branches on October 3, 2011 and May 7, 2012. Only tree branches up to 6 inches in diameter will be chipped, and no leaves, bushes, or other debris will be accepted. Place branches by the curb in an orderly pile with trunk ends toward the road.
Christmas trees will be picked up the first two Mondays of each new year. Remove all decorations and place trees by the curb for early morning removal.
Check with your trash hauler for information on their policies for removing grass clippings and yard waste. Your hauler may offer more collections in addition to the Borough's scheduled collections. You may also compost your yard waste.
The NMCRC publishes a brief recycling guide with general information for all of its member municipalities. You may need to download the free Adobe Reader in order to view the file.
