Lower Gwynedd Township

Recycling Guidelines

Lower Gwynedd Township contracts with a single hauler to provide service for all residents of the township. The designated waste hauler is Waste Management. You will receive your bill directly from Waste Management. All new residents must contract with Waste Management. Their contact information is:

Lower Gwynedd's contract with Waste Management includes participation in the RecycleBank program. Through the RecycleBank program, you will receive a large, wheeled recycling container. The container is weighed at each recycling collection, and based on the amount you recycle, you will be given rewards such as coupons that you can use at local businesses.

What to recycle

You do not need to separate your recyclables by type; just put them all into your RecycleBank container.

Recycling is collected once per week on Mondays. If a holiday falls on a collection day, recycling will be collected the day after the holiday.

If you wish to recycle a material that is not included in regular recycling collection, you can search for a drop-off.

RecycleBank Points

As a Lower Gwynedd resident, you can earn RecycleBank Points simply by putting recyclables at the curb in your RecycleBank cart. Each week when your recyclables are collected, your RecycleBank cart is weighed, and you receive RecycleBank Points based on how much you recycled. The more you recycle, the more points your household earns. RecycleBank Points continue to accrue as long as you remain in the RecycleBank program, and will expire only if there is no activity in your account for over 6 months.

RecycleBank points can be used to shop at a variety of local and national retailers. You can find local retailers that are included by entering your zip code on RecycleBank's search page.

To retrieve your RecycleBank points, first create an account on RecycleBank's registration page. To create an account, you will need to provide the activation code that was sent to you in the mail, or request a new activation code by entering your address to verify that your home is located in the RecycleBank curbside program area.

Once you have created an online account, you can use it to order your rewards online and to request delivery of rewards by email (some retailers require that their rewards be delivered by mail). You can also use your account to contact RecycleBank if you have not received your mailed rewards within 5-7 business days and to check whether you have reached the monthly limit of Reward Points. Some rewards have expiration dates or are offered for a limited time only. Information about reward expiration dates can be found on your account page.

If you do not wish to create an online account, you can contact RecycleBank at 1-888-727-2978 to order your rewards or if you have any questions.
