Montgomery Township residents must make arrangements for recycling with the hauler of their choice. See below for a list of haulers that operate in the township. Those contractors may provide a recycling container as part of your service contract; if not, recycling bins are available for a nominal cost of $10 at the Township Building, 1001 Stump Road, Montgomeryville.
Though each hauler has its own instructions explaining what materials to recycle and how to sort them, the hauler you select should collect aluminum, steel, and bimetal cans, glass, number 1 and 2 plastics, newspapers, and magazines. Haulers may pick up other materials in addition to these. Please contact your hauler with any questions about recycling materials, material sorting, and collection schedules.
The township provides a cardboard recycling drop-off bin at the Township Building on Stump Rd. The bin is open from sunrise to sunset and accepts materials from Township residents only, not from businesses. Please break down boxes and place them in the recycling container. Do not leave boxes on the ground. Do not put "waxy" cardboard in this recycling bin.
If you wish to recycle a material that is not included in regular recycling collection, you can search for a drop-off.
This list is meant as a guide for residents and may not include all haulers that operate in the township. Several of the haulers listed also provide commercial recycling collection.

Montgomery Township's fall leaf collection is on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 7:00am-5:00pm. Place your leaves in biodegradable paper leaf waste bags and put them at the curb by 7:00am.
Residents may also dispose of leaves by bagging them in biodegradable paper bags and dropping them off at the William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae (off of Kenas Road) on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Drop-offs are not permitted outside the scheduled times.
You may also compost your yard waste.
The NMCRC publishes a brief recycling guide with general information for all of its member municipalities. You may need to download the free Adobe Reader in order to view the file.
